About the role
Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your specialized skills that result in the proper care and feeding of Customs and Border Protection owned dogs. This position starts at an hourly rate of $25.01 (WG-06, Step 1) to $29.18 (WG-06, Step 5). In this Animal Caretaker position, you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals tasked with the day-to-day care of Customs and Border Protection owned dogs. Typical work assignments include: Handling the day-to-day care of animals. Working independently, making decisions, showing job responsibility, and exercising initiative. Observing animals for obvious changes of appearance and activity. Understanding and following instructions and exhibiting dexterity and working safely.
