MUSEUM SPECIALIST

As a MUSEUM SPECIALIST at the GS-1016-9 some of your typical work assignments may include: Assists in the management of the day-to-day technical operations of the DTRA/DNWS Nuclear Weapons Instructional Museum (NWIM), learning to apply the fundamental principles of museum practices and project management. Learns about established policies governing museum operations and assists in their implementation by performing routine tasks related to the solicitation, collecting, accessioning, cataloging, and preservation of historical properties. Assists with the fabrication and installation of exhibits. Assists in the implementation of established security procedures within the DNWS complex. Learns to apply established standard operating procedures to their daily tasks.
