About the role
The Land, Chemicals and Redevelopment Division (LCRD) is responsible for implementing various environmental laws including: The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, including hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, underground storage tanks, and leaking underground storage tanks; The brownfields provisions of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act; The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act; The Toxic Substances Control Act; The Residential Lead Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act; The Pollution Prevention Act of 1990. Specific duties of the Director of LCRD include: Serving as key participant in regional and national strategic and operational planning activities with respect to the programs managed by the Division, making determinations regarding priority areas, investments and disinvestments, and ensuring completion of assigned projects or priorities.
