Safety and Occupational Health Specialist

Conducts safety and occupational health surveys for Defense Logistics Agency Oklahoma, recommends measures to eliminate or control hazardous practices and conditions which may cause mishaps. Prepares supplemental written safety procedures for application to local organizational components. Provides formal training to employees and supervisors using established and accepted information that is pertinent to the work being performed at the Depot. Performs independent inspections of manufacturing activities where equipment operations, working conditions, and materials handled are potentially hazardous. Investigates mishaps involving worksites, machine and equipment operations, environmental conditions, work practices, protective devices and equipment, and safety procedures to control unsafe acts and hazardous conditions.
