Mechanical Engineer

Provides expert engineer advisory service to the Garrison Manager, DPW Director, tenant, and serviced organizations on fire suppression and HVAC issues. Develop mechanical engineering program objectives and strategies to facilitate Directorate of Public Works (DPW) operations on HVAC related projects to include testing and troubleshooting. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Provide resolution of conflicts arising in both the regulatory and technical areas. Subject Matter Expert for facility fire alarm, fire suppression and facility mass notification systems. Ensure the Installation’s fire protection systems are code compliant with applicable fire protection codes and standards, including but not limited to NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 17, 25, 72, 101 and 2001 as well as local and national building codes.
