ACCOUNTING AND BUDGET TECHNICIAN

- Extracts, compiles, and consolidates unrelated workload and cost data as well as a variety of narrative information used for preparing budget estimates involving one or more appropriations with different guidelines and procedures, or a comparable mix of appropriated fund and/or revolving fund accounts; provides technical expertise and assistance to the Budget Officer and higher graded analysts - Performs trend analysis to ensure sufficient funding is available to support monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements - Analyzes data within the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) accounting system to ensure accuracy of data elements - Assists higher graded analysts in preparing preliminary cost analysis studies, e.g., lease versus buy agreements, A-76 studies, Management Control (MC) programs, etc - Provides general administrative oversight and support to the staff and service to external and other internal customers
