Health Technician (Optometry)

Reviews clinic appointment schedules 24-72 hours in advance to identify patient needs. Receives each patient and initiates examination data recording in the electronic medical record (EMR) Orders authorized military prescription eyewear using the DoD Spectacle Request Transmission System (SRTS). Orders authorized military prescription eyewear using the DoD Spectacle Request Transmission System (SRTS). Ensures exam rooms are opened and closed properly daily, kept in an orderly appearance, and remain fully operational by reporting problems and facilitating work orders. Cleans clinical equipment after each patient and at the end of the day to maintain infection control. Assists medical support assistant in clinical and appointment duties as needed Scribes for optometrist as needed. Directs and trains personnel as needed, including new optometry technicians and military medical personnel rotating through the clinics for deployment ophthalmic readiness and cross training
