Inspector (Offshore Well Operations & Safety)

These positions are located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Gulf of America OCS Region, District Field Operations, Houma District/Lafayette District/Lake Charles District/Lake Jackson District/New Orleans District, Well Operations Section, Well Operations Inspection Unit, duty stationed in Houma, LA, Lake Charles, LA, Lafayette, LA, Jefferson, LA, or Angleton, TX. At the full performance level (GS-11) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Perform well-operation inspections of oil and gas facilities to ensure safety of operations and personnel. 2. Identify deficiencies or violations of environmental and safety laws and regulations. 3. Work with senior Inspectors in conducing investigation of accidents associated with offshore drilling, work-over/completion, or other related operations. 4. Plan and schedule inspections of routine operations or designated portion or more complex operations
