About the role
Applies biological knowledge and experience in the evaluation of data and information from a variety of sources to the nonclinical assessment of regulated tobacco products. Leads a team that provides assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Serves as a scientific expert in developing guidance; provides verbal and written responses to high-level inquires. Serves as a senior regulatory reviewer in CTP/OS, with responsibility for analyzing and determining the adequacy of data and tests submitted by a manufacturer regarding the safety and public health impact of regulated products. Reviews documents submitted for regulatory action; advises CTP and leadership on nonclinical science issues related to scientific subject matter and public health issues of regulated tobacco products.
