About the role
As a Financial Litigation Technician in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO), you will work with federal prosecutors, law enforcement, and other financial litigation staff to recover restitution for crime victims as well as to collect fines and debts owed to the United States. Work assignments include: Enforcing judgments in criminal and civil cases and independently performing all functions to collect amounts imposed, including restitution to victims, criminal fines, and civil debts. Reviewing and analyzing financial information about assets and transactions of debtors, including determining their present and future potential ability to pay their debts. Collecting debts, including by drafting letters, forms, and reports necessary to initiate the collection of debts and working with prosecutors in collection actions.
