Nurse Practitioner (Urology)

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will report to the Chief Surgical Service/Section Chief of Urology . She/he applies specialized clinical nursing knowledge and skills to patient care as well as the improvement of the quality of care provided by others. The NP provides a unique approach to healthcare that allows the incorporation of traditional nursing skills as well as advanced practice skills in the care of patients ranging from young adulthood to geriatrics. These skills enable the NP to anticipate and implement preventive health measures with a strong emphasis on patient/significant other/family education as well as illness management of primary care/specialty care. The NP incorporates patient age, gender culture and learning abilities in the plan of care. The unit or section description and patient population served is as defined in applicable Scope of Service.
