About the role
The Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) - Compensation and Pension is a registered nurse who utilizes critical thinking in the application of advanced clinical health care knowledge and skills, in conducting comprehensive history and physical examinations to Veterans and separating/retiring Service Members. Performs medical record reviews and clinical interviews, provides diagnosis/ evaluation, makes medical assessments, renders medical opinion(s) as to the likelihood that presenting medical condition(s) are related to military service and acts within the guidelines and quality indicators set forth by the Compensation and Pension (C&P) Service at the VA Northern California Health Care System and the Office of Disability and Medical Assessment (DMA). Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performs examinations for registry purposes for the facility Environmental Health Registry (EHR) Programs within the guidelines of the Health Outcomes Military Expo
