About the role
Provides assessment of referred individuals which may include developmental level, status of sensory-motor and musculo-skeletal systems, self-help skills, equipment needs, and environmental modifications. Assists the Case Study Committee in developing goals and objectives for the student's Individual Education Program (IEP) for the purpose of improving classroom functioning. Provides therapy and continually observes students on an individual and group basis to evaluate progress in meeting students' goals and objectives. Confers regularly with other IEP implementers to monitor role-release activities. Assists students in adapting and coping by influencing developmental patterns or techniques of behavior in the functional areas of gross motor abilities, transfer abilities, positioning, and psychological and social behavior. Documents student progress and maintains appropriate records. Performs other duties as assigned.
