About the role
Performs journey-level carpentry work constructing, altering, repairing, and installing structural and finish components of buildings and facilities, including framing, roofing, siding, flooring, cabinetry, and historic features; plans and lays out projects using blueprints and building codes while operating a variety of power and hand tools to produce precise, finished work. Performs plumbing work installing, modifying, and repairing utility, supply, and disposal systems (e.g., water, sewer, oil, gas, and fire systems); plans and lays out system routing, slope, and operation using blueprints and accepted trade practices. Performs painting work preparing and finishing interior and exterior surfaces; selecting, mixing, and applying paints and coatings; matching existing finishes; and using a variety of tools and techniques to achieve durable and decorative results with minimal supervision.
