About the role
The Existing Chemical Risk Management Division is responsible for addressing several mandates for "existing" chemicals (those already in commerce and on the Inventory) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), while continuing to address harmful "legacy" chemicals that remain in the environment. This includes the Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) provisions of TSCA, the national Asbestos laws, the Residential Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act, and the new Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products Act. Specific duties of this position may include, but are not limited to: Serving as the principal advisor to the Director and Deputy Directors of the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics for program areas that fall under the purview of the Division. Developing and implementing long- and short- range plans, budgets, grants and contracts, and progress and performance evaluations of the Division's programs.
