About the role
Broad knowledge of transportation management policies and global supply chain management systems, techniques, and procedures. Ability to resolve challenging problems involving diverse organizations, multiple approving authorities and a variety of policies and controls. Understanding the application of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of program effectiveness. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to include preparation and presentation of briefings. Knowledge of the processes used to monitor and control the quality of service provided to the DOD by the commercial carrier industry. Completed work is reviewed from an overall standpoint for feasibility, compatibility with other projects, or effectiveness in meeting requirements. Assignments may also include responsibility for developing guidelines for use by traffic managers or specialists at the same or lower levels in the organization.
