Distribution Facilities Specialist

Conducts studies concerning receiving, handling, storing, issuing, or physically controlling items within a storage and distribution system. Serves as specialist in conducting management analyses of assigned operations to determine efficiency of receipt, storage and shipment procedures and to identify problem areas. Develops comprehensive new and revised program objectives and operational procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the organizations. Evaluates the impact of changed methods and procedures on designated operational areas which involved a variety of specialized methods and techniques and/or complicating characteristics to be considered. Conducts a variety of special and comprehensive management analysis studies to determine the most effective and efficient use of resources. Interprets agency directives and policies and prepares internal instructions, policies, and procedures that govern various depot operations.
