About the role
The DA serves as the principal advisor to the Director of Field Services - Mid-America and the Office of the Administrator on policy, program and technical issues, particularly with regard to the effect on Texas's Federal-aid program management and on Federal/State relationships. In addition, the DA: Provides leadership and direction over the administration of a highly diverse and complex $7+ billion Federal-aid highway program through the establishment of Division Office objectives, priorities, and timetables, and through the evaluation of program activities, issues, and accomplishments; Directs operations of the Texas Division Office in the advancement of public-private partnership ventures to fund major transportation improvements and upgrading the State's transportation network including border connections that support increased international movement of freight between the United States and Mexico; Provides executive leadership in building and enhancing intermodal and interagency
