Security Specialist

Provides advisory services to the Distribution Center Commander/Director, Deputy Director, operational managers, and functional area personnel for all facets of the security programs. Oversees planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring of the activity security programs. Oversees and manages the personnel security program for the activity. Performs personnel security duties pertaining to personnel clearances for both employees and contractors and applies agency regulations regarding the types of background investigations needed. Develops, reviews, and revises local operating instructions to provide guidelines on security matters and implements installation, higher headquarters, and Federal regulations. Provides technical advisory services to the Site Commander/Director on specialized shipping, handling, and storage requirements of classified, sensitive, and controlled materials.
