Preservation Technician

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Preservation Technician, you will: Perform record preservation and treatment activities as assigned using appropriate materials and standards Apply knowledge and independent judgement to carry out treatment, digitization, condition assessments and special surveys. Reformat records for preservation purposes by performing technical operations utilizing a variety of appropriate reformatting equipment. Participate in the digitization efforts of archival holdings for public access and permanent retention following broad NARA guidance and procedures.
