Recreation Assistant

Performs and/or assists in the operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Establishes schedules of events and ensures rules and regulations are followed. Tests water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation. Demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water-sports areas, firing ranges, and hunting areas. Demonstrates equipment and techniques for outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating. Sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when practical knowledge of rules and procedures is required. Inspects outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general condition. Schedules campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas, ensuring they are vacated or returned in good order. Performs other related duties as assigned.
