About the role
Serves as liaison between User, Contractor, Architect/Engineer Design Firms, area Offices, District, Division, and USACE, and other Technical Centers of Expertise. Acts as a District consultant and expert advisor in resolving novel, extremely technical state-of-the-art, unusual and controversial mechanical engineering matters. Determines feasibility and plans methods to be used for accomplishing modifications to suit local conditions and changing requirements of using agency, national and local mechanical requirements and revisions there to occurring during construction. Develops alternate designs, concepts and plans, or changes as necessary, Reviews shop drawings, equipment specifications, and design analyses from contractors Recommends changes to codes or manufacturers specifications, equipment, and systems based upon research and development to meet mission requirements.
