Human Resources Specialist

The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity. The duties may include, but are not limited to: All: Interprets issuances, directives, regulations, laws and procedures to ensure that a well-regulated program is maintained. All: Answers correspondence and inquiries; provides advice and guidance on the rules and regulations that pertain to human resources area of specialty. All: Reviews, monitors, and tracks personnel actions; use automated Human Resources Information Systems and applications. Staffing: Prepares vacancy announcements, evaluates applicants, and advises hiring officials on operating personnel programs by assisting in the planning and staffing of their operations. Benefits: Receives, reviews and processes a variety of benefit election forms; assembles, prepares and processes benefits packages for retirements and separations. Processing:
