About the role
You will serve as a Purchasing Agent and be responsible for purchasing a wide variety of supplies and services from commercial and government sources throughout the United States for the Coast Guard Surface Force Logistics Center. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Analyzing all procurement requests for adequacy, completeness, clarity, and funding. Reviewing various contracts to assure that Coast Guard items being procured are in accordance with the requirement and that the terms, conditions, and clauses are correct. Acquiring supplies and services to meet the needs of agencies or activities. Determining the appropriate procedures to use to obtain goods and services that will fill the requirements, meet the delivery schedule, provide the best price, and conform to acquisition regulations. Preparing solicitation to comply with regulations and ensure that the requirement for adequate competition is satisfied
