About the role
You will serve as a Purchasing Agent and be responsible for procurement functions such as preparing, controlling or verifying procurement documents; assembling information; or reporting on performance. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Processing a wide variety of procurement transactions related to complex contracts and simplified acquisitions, e.g., large purchases for specialized supplies and large purchases for services. Assembling, reviewing, and maintaining procurement files related to these complex acquisitions. Assembling procurement documents and responds to both internal and external inquiries relative to requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts. Maintaining and overseeing contract/order files, property procurement publications, and schedules for the section.
