About the role
In this role as Chief Counsel, you will be responsible for: Providing legal advice on a wide range of issues related to data in the agency, including data collection, data protection, data governance, data use, and data sharing. Coordinating the SEC's compliance with federal laws applicable to the OCDO, including the Federal Data Strategy, the Evidence Act, the Open Government Data Act and the Financial Data Transparency Act. Coordinating the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Program. Assisting with the development and implementation of activities to support the Open Data Plan. Overseeing programs led by staff in the office, including compliance with SECR 2-1 and the Paperwork Reduction Act. Supervising the Information Services (Library) Branch and supporting the Chief Librarian to ensure timely acquisitions and library services to the agency. Providing responses to: Congressional and other official inquiries, FOIA requests, Directive Management responses (SECR 1-3).
