About the role
Duties of the Physical Scientist position include, but are not limited to, the following: For GS-7: Coordinating work with others to ensure timely accomplishment of team tasks. Tracking batches of samples through the preparation procedures. Assist in maintaining stock supplies for sampling and analytical laboratory functions. Learning the requirements for ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation as applied to industrial hygiene sample preparation. For GS-8: Inspecting readiness of safety equipment and personal protective equipment for use of laboratory personnel. Receiving and logging samples into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Using automated physical measurements to test compliance samples in safety and industrial hygiene inspections. Maintaining laboratory equipment including glassware cleaning. As the employee progresses, the assignments will become more difficult and complex with less supervision.
