About the role
You will operate and maintain a variety of electric furnaces ranging in capacity from 50 lbs. to 85 tons. You will prepare the furnace for operation in accordance with applicable instructions You will charge the furnace with known material, ignites/energizes the furnace and sends samples of resultant melts to the Quality Assurance Test Laboratory for analysis. You will add alloying metals, flux, and other materials in proper sequence during the melting operation. You will lead three or more employees in performing work, which is typical of the WG-3701-10 series. You will assist immediate supervisor in scoping work package, studying all pertinent plans and references, preparing work sites and fulfilling all tooling and material needs.
