About the role
You will apply physical and mathematical relationships to global data sources derived from satellites, radar, remote sensors, and weather stations. You will develop new methods for relaying weather forecasts, recommendations, and information to the customer in more meaningful, tactically relevant forms. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications and systems to display METOC data in support of watch floor operations and requirements. You will produce and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and standard operational procedures. You will serve as a meteorological data and applications subject matter expert on a variety of specialized meteorological and oceanographic processing and display systems and internally developed web applications, scripts and utility functions.
