About the role
The major duties of the Criminal Investigator (Southwest Border Coordinator) position include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides investigative expertise and oversight for criminal investigation and organizational performance. Serves as a consultant and expert advisor to external law enforcement agencies and participates in major ATF policy and program planning initiatives. Participates directly with outside law enforcement agencies and appropriate executive level officials in ATF to develop broad operating policies and operational initiatives. Plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees studies and surveys to evaluate programs and ensure efficiency and economy of operations.
