Transportation Assistant (Hazardous)

Performs freight shipment, transportation, and supply support functions for movements which are world-wide to aerial ports or CONUS. Initiates, verifies, and tracks Material Release Orders and exception requisitions from customer request through dispatch, coordinating with all handling entities. Selects shipment modes, arranges routing, manages urgent deliveries, and secures efficient, cost-effective carrier services for domestic and international shipments. Responds to inquiries, supplies shipment status, resolves issues, and supports the Emergency Supply Operations Center through call center. Investigates delays, cancellations, rejects, and over-aged Material Release Orders; corrects records; closes histories; and compiles data to identify causes and trends. Conducts post-audits, prepayment audits, and carrier terminal inspections; corrects documentation; redirects shipments; and ensures accurate charges and credits.
