Lead Civil Engineer (Structural) ADL - DIRECT HIRE

As a Lead Civil Engineer (Structural), you will: Serve as the principal national consultant to FHWA senior leadership, other FHWA offices, and to FHWA partners and customers on advanced bridge and tunnel inspection programs. Establish methods and procedures for improving the state of practice of bridge and tunnel inspection programs. Serve as a nationally recognized expert and consultant for nationwide training programs for the bridge and tunnel inspection programs. Evaluate and provide authoritative advice related to the National Bridge Inspection Program and the National Tunnel Inspection Program providing for the proper safety inspection of all highway bridges and tunnels on all public roads as required by Federal legislation. Collaborate with the Office of Research and Development to establish and lead national research and technology transfer projects, identify emerging national research needs, recommend research and technology transfer programs, and advise on the results of imple
