Budget Analyst

Develops advice and guidance to budget and senior personnel on the preparation of budget estimates, and prepares detailed analyses and critiques of estimates provided. Monitors the execution of field office and/or Agency operating budgets to assure that funds are properly allocated and are being obligated and spent in a timely and effective manner. Exercises budget controls through review and approval of the obligation and expenditure of funds for management and administrative purposes. Develops, or assists in the development of, presentations outlining findings, conclusions and recommendations. Recommends adjustments, such as redistribution of funds within budget accounts, in response to changes in programs, staffing levels, and/or funds available.
