About the role
You will build keel blocks, cradles, shoring, cribbing, and other structures to support ships in dry dock. You will lead other workers and instruct them on work requirements, methods, and procedures as needed. You will pass on to other workers the instructions received from the supervisors, getting work started and setting the work pace. You will check on work while in progress and keep the supervisor informed of status and progress of work, materials, cause of any work delays, and personnel problems. You will establish all permanent reference points and lines. You will perform structural work on wooden ships and vessels.
