About the role
The major duties of the Supervisory Firearms & Toolmark Examiner (Section Chief) position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as Section Chiefs under the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) Site Operations Branch. Provides supervision to a staff of professional personnel conducting examinations in areas of IBIS and firearm and toolmarks. Performs casework examination in his/her field of expertise and is a regional NIBIN coordinator for the laboratory service region. Coordinates forensic method development activities with the section and with other Laboratories upon request. Prepares reports and documents for analysis that could be used in publications professional journals and scientific publications.
