About the role
You will clean instruments and check them for wear, damage, faulty alignment and excessive play or friction. You will repair or replace worn or defective mechanical parts. You will modify instruments by adding or removing mechanical components in order to standardize or alter the range or purpose of the instrument. You will use various hand tools of the trade such as Instrument maker, jeweler and watch maker tools, magnifying lenses, feeler gage blocks, monochromatic light, optical l flats etc. You will use all types of electric and pneumatic hand tools. You will open and inspect Test Measure and Diagnostic Equipment (TM and DE) that is in protective containers to validate its condition for reissue.
