Research Space Scientist, AST, Planetary Studies (Direct Hire)

Conducts, coordinates, and leads studies of molecular formation and destruction in space and novel chemistry of evolution of complex organic molecules in astrophysical environments using the techniques of ab initio quantum chemistry. Serves as liaison for interdisciplinary research work between astrobiology and astrophysics to support NASA missions, such as Habitable Worlds Observatory. Leads and promotes collaborations across the NASA ARC scientific staff. Works well with others in a team environment to achieve goals and engendering team spirit and commitment. Obtains and manages resources and identifies strategic objectives for the organization. Disseminates research results through peer-reviewed publications, workshops, and scientific conferences.
