SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

The duties, described below, represent the major duties performed at the GS-08 level. The duties performed for developmental positions will be of limited scope and complexity to develop skills, proficiency, and work experience. Supervises and directs functions in support of accounting transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or fund balance with treasury for the organization. Responsible for the review of documents for validity, expenditure limitation, and correct accounting data; balancing and maintaining the subsidiary ledgers; performing reconciliation of un-liquidated contractual obligations. Oversees the accomplishment of technical work in accordance with policy, directives, regulations, and reporting requirements. Interprets regulations, requirements, and policies to ensure compliance.
