The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As an Archivist, you will: Develop and deliver responses (orally and in writing) to reference requests that draw upon a broad knowledge of records, involve multiple sources of information, employ innovative research techniques, or require interpretation of complex rules or procedures. Review records and apply appropriate restrictions in compliance with EO 13526, the Freedom of Information Act, access rules of the House and Senate, copyright laws, donor requirements, or other mandates. Interpret complex descriptive standards, prepare descriptions of and finding aids for complex bodies of records, and assist others in understanding standards and creating descriptions and finding aids.
