About the role
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Supervisory Archives Specialist, you will: Ensure safe, efficient and economical use of space, equipment and personnel assigned to center operations. Plan and direct a records transfer (accessioning) program; disposition program; reference program; and document conversion services program for the record center operations. Prepare initial budget estimates for the records center operations and is responsible for controlling expenditures within financial operation plans. Engage in professional activities associated with records management and center operations. Assist in the oversight of the physical care, maintenance, and security of building, grounds, and contents including guarding against loss, theft, damage to or deterioration of the records holdings.
