About the role
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Civil Engineer. Typical assignments include: Performing and/or developing engineering review of Hazard Mitigation (HMA) and Public Assistance (PA) grant projects to determine the technical feasibility and cost-effectiveness utilizing approved benefit cost analysis (BCA) software or methodology. Coordinating with other organizational elements of the agency, other Federal agencies, State, Local and tribal governments, trade or industry associations, property owners, planner's academia, non-profits or other organizations as necessary to facilitate effective integration of building science principles into policies and programs. Ensuring conformance with FEMA mapping standards and recommending modifications so that hazard maps and flood risk studies provide a sound basis for insurance rating and floodplain management measures while reflecting current policy and legal requirements.
