Traffic Manager

Position serves as a full Deputy to the Distribution Center's (DC's) Traffic Manager; primarily involved in managing the transportation/traffic program at a DC within the DLA Distribution. Assists in executing the traffic management program for the Distribution Center. Supervises employees directly and indirectly through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors. Directs employees in accomplishing responsibilities related to freight consolidation, freight terminal operations, freight transportation, and material movement activities. Serve as a DC's technical authority on transportation operations and programs, interpreting higher level guidance and ensuring policies and procedures are appropriately executed by the subordinate staff. Maintains liaison and participates with other DCs, foreign government representatives, other Services and agencies, as well as commercial freight forwarders to resolve problems related to the transportation of material.
