Equipment Specialist

Ensures operational readiness, availability, and safe operation of all vehicles and support equipment to meet mission requirements. Conducts technical analyses of equipment malfunctions to determine causes and repair methods. Evaluates equipment repair needs versus replacement considerations. Prepares technical specifications and justifications for support equipment procurement, developing documentation to support long-range support equipment acquisitions utilizing data from the FMIS. Serves as COR for maintenance services and repairs performed by contractors. Monitor contractor performance against contract specifications and terms. Inspect work to ensure full compliance with contract requirements. Serves as an Instructor and Certifying Official (ICO) for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and all other vehicles and equipment requiring training and licensing IAW DLA, OSHA, and Equipment manufacturer requirements.
