Healthcare Engineer (Environmental Engineer)

Performs Healthcare Planning/Design Management; Water Treatment Design and Operation Designing and maintaining water treatment plants to remove contaminants from drinking water and wastewater. Selecting appropriate treatment processes (e.g., filtration, sedimentation, disinfection) to ensure water meets health and safety standards. Water Quality Monitoring Collecting and analyzing water samples from rivers, lakes, and distribution systems. Using data to detect pollutants such as bacteria, heavy metals, chemicals, and other hazardous substances. The position determines the requirements for healthcare projects in relation to the needs of the Healthcare System, inclusive of the parent site, as well as off-site locations under the auspice of the Healthcare System, whether VA owned or leased. The position provides a broad review of all disciplines of Engineering when applied to a healthcare environment to support construction document reviews and preparation. Working knowledge of The Joint
