About the role
Utilizes a professional knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical engineering to work large and complex design and construction projects, and to manage an installation Energy Program mandated to reduce overall energy consumption for existing facilities and utility systems, as well as new construction, and/or renovation/improvement projects. Manages utility contracts, agreements, metering, and utility budget development. Evaluates program effectiveness and serves as primary energy advisor to installation senior leadership. Provides professional advice on sustainable design and energy efficiency practices. Facilitates a team of engineers or coordinates with other flights in facility planning to reduce energy requirements. Keeps abreast of emerging technologies, regulatory requirements, and best practices to ensure that facility equipment, projects, and strategies remain relevant and functional.
