Health Technician (Surgical)

Screen each patient to ensure all requirements are met. Organize required supplies and equipment in accordance with operative work sheets. Maintain alertness for complications that may develop during surgery. Obtain supplies needed such as blood, drugs, solutions to prepare specimens to laboratory. Measure blood and fluid loss to assist with application of dressings. Replenish sterile packs and general supplies as required. Determine best methods for sterilizing equipment daily to ensure effectiveness and conformance to requirements.
