About the role
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Environmental Resource Management Divison, in Glendale, AZ. At the full performance level (GS-09) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Plans and conduct cultural resources investigations. Identifies properties that are eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, evaluates and compares impacts from proposed activities that may impact cultural resources. Assists in the preparation and review of environmental documents (i.e., environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, categorical exclusions) addressing archeological and historical aspects, objectively documenting both positive and negative impacts and identifying mitigating measures. Prepares briefings, lectures, workshops, displays, and articles on cultural resources as they relate to installation projects. Initiates and maintains liaison with archeologists, and other professionals
