About the role
Assist with the inspection of historic structures, sites and landscapes to determine physical condition, evaluate and report findings and maintains plans, records, photographs and original field notes, Under guidance, prepares detailed drawings for and designs missing portions of structures to be restored; and prepares plans and specifications for conventional restoration and preservation projects. Plans, schedules, supervises and directs construction for historic preservation work; prepares and procures appropriate materials, craft specialists, period-appropriate tools, etc. Responsible for the documenting results of historic structure investigations, contract specifications, scope of work statements, and providing detailed specifications for carrying out maintenance activities; and writes technical reports.
