About the role
Conducts interviews and research of professional and technical literature to augment site observations and or to obtain data for wetland boundary delineation when field inspections are not possible. Coordinates the issuance of permits with other Federal and state agencies. Evaluates proposals on a preliminary basis to determine the extent of compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Guidelines and the need to institute specialized coordination procedures. Receives permit applications and examines the supporting materials to ensure completeness and clarity to support further evaluation. Determines if the proposed work order is covered by a valid nationwide permit, general permit, or authorized by a Letter of Permission. Recommends discretionary authority to require individual permits for proposals that meet national criteria and conditions.
