IT Specialist (SYSADMIN)

The duties of the full performance level GS-12 IT Specialist (Sysadmin) include: Planning and carrying out difficult and complex assignments in a variety of systems administration areas to include interpreting IT policies, standards, and requirements, and modifying and adapting existing methods and approaches. Performing a wide range and variety of complex IT issues, evaluating and recommending new or enhanced approaches, analyzing, and recommending resolution of complex issues, and analyzes and provides cost benefit analysis to decision-makers. Modifying, adapting, and/or refining broader guidelines to resolve specific complex and/or intricate issues and problems; and identifying and researching trends and patterns to develop new methods and criteria for systems administration activities.Researching options for problem resolution and recommendations.
