Agriculturist (Containment Scientist) / Agriculturist (Senior Regulatory Policy Specialist)

The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity. The duties may include, but are not limited to: Reviews draft permits and associated documents to ensure that permit conditions are appropriate and sufficient to prevent the escape of regulated articles. Reviews and evaluates scientific documents, construction proposals, standard operating procedures and inspection reports. Consultant and advisor to other Animal Plant Health Inspection Service officials concerning quarantine requirements. Recommends changes in program policy and procedures. Informs Plant Protection and Quarantine officials of individual/team activities results that may impact the planning, development, and administration of other agency programs.
